What is it?
The New Kingdom is the third major period of ancient Egypt. It includes the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties. Famous pharaohs like Hatshepsut, Akhenaten, Tutankhamun, and Ramesses II ruled during this time. Egypt expanded its territory and built many temples, like Karnak and Luxor. The stela you captured dates to the 18th Dynasty. This period is known for its rich art and elaborate tombs, including the Valley of the Kings.
Why it matters
The New Kingdom was the peak of Egyptian civilization. Many of the most famous Egyptian artifacts come from this period. Understanding it helps you place objects like the stela in history.
