What is it?
The afterlife is a belief in many religions and cultures. In ancient Egypt, people believed that after death, the soul would travel to a place called the Field of Reeds. To prepare for this journey, they mummified bodies and placed treasures in tombs. The gold mask of Tutankhamun was meant to protect the pharaoh in the afterlife. The temple at Abu Simbel also had religious meanings related to the afterlife.
