What is it?
Tutankhamun was a pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty of Egypt. He ruled from about 1332 to 1323 BCE. He became pharaoh at a very young age, around 8 or 9, and died when he was about 18. His tomb was discovered by Howard Carter in 1922 in the Valley of the Kings. It was filled with treasures, including his famous gold mask. The mask is made of solid gold and shows his face. The discovery of his tomb gave us a lot of information about ancient Egyptian burial practices.
