What is it?
Sculpture is one of the oldest art forms. Artists can carve stone, model clay, or cast metal to create statues. Sculptures can be realistic or abstract. They can be small enough to hold or as big as a building. Edgar Degas's 'Little Dancer of Fourteen Years' is a sculpture made of wax with real fabric. It is unusual because most sculptures of that time were made of bronze or marble. The child's reflection notes that the sculpture was originally made in wax and used real fabric for the costume.
