Religion and mythology are systems of beliefs and stories that people create to understand life, nature, and the universe. Ancient Egyptians had a rich mythology with gods like Thoth, Ra, and Isis. They believed these gods controlled the sun, the Nile, and knowledge. The sacred ibis was part of this mythology as a symbol of Thoth. During Greek and Roman times, the ibis remained a symbol of Egyptian religion and culture.
