The act of letting go of anger and choosing to be kind to someone who did something wrong.

Forgiveness is a theme in many stories and artworks. It means not punishing someone even when they deserve it. In the Bible story of Jesus and the woman taken in adultery, Jesus forgives the woman and tells the crowd not to stone her. He says, "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." This shows that everyone makes mistakes and deserves a second chance.
