Sichuan is a province in China. It is famous for its cuisine, especially spicy dishes. It is also home to the Sanxingdui archaeological site, where the bronze mask was found. The ancient Shu civilization flourished in this region around 1200 BCE. Sichuan has a mild climate and rich farmland.
Why it matters
