Rembrandt Peale (1778–1860) was an American artist. He was born into a family of painters. His father, Charles Willson Peale, was also a famous portrait painter. Rembrandt painted many portraits of George Washington. He also painted other leaders and scientists. He was known for his careful detail and ability to show a person's character. He used oil paints and often used soft, warm colors.
