Jan Brueghel (1568–1625) was a Flemish painter, also called "Velvet" Brueghel because of his smooth painting style. He was the son of Pieter Bruegel the Elder. He painted many detailed landscapes, flower still lifes, and mythological scenes. His painting "Bacchus and Ariadne" shows a mythological story with many small details. He often worked with other artists, like Peter Paul Rubens.
