Abundance
A large amount of something, like food, wealth, or happiness.
What is it?
Abundance means having more than enough. In art, abundance is often shown by painting lots of food, flowers, or treasure. The still life you saw shows abundance: there are many fruits, vegetables, and animals on the table. This tells you that the people who owned this painting were rich and had plenty to eat.
Why it matters
Abundance in art can show wealth and success. But sometimes artists also use it to remind you that too much can lead to waste or that life is short.
