What is it?
Medieval France was a period when France was ruled by kings and divided into many regions. It was a time of castles, crusades, and Gothic cathedrals. King Louis IX ruled during this time. Art and architecture flourished, and many bronze statues were made.
Why it matters
Medieval France shaped modern France. Many of its buildings, laws, and traditions come from this period. Understanding it helps us understand European history.
