Émile Bayard (1837–1891) was a French painter and illustrator. He is best known for his painting 'The Siege of Paris' (1872), which shows the Franco-Prussian War. He also illustrated books, including Victor Hugo's 'Les Misérables'. His work often shows dramatic moments with strong emotions.
