Food Web

What is it?
A food web is a network of food chains. It shows how plants and animals are connected by what they eat. For example, the Red-billed Blue Magpie eats fruits, insects, and small animals. In turn, it may be eaten by larger predators like hawks or snakes. Food webs are more realistic than simple food chains because animals often eat many different things.
Why it matters
Food webs help us understand how energy flows through an ecosystem. If one species disappears, it can affect many others. Protecting all parts of the food web keeps nature healthy.
