Asian Elephant
A type of elephant that lives in Asia, smaller than the African elephant, with smaller ears.
What is it?
Asian elephants are one of the two species of elephants. They live in India, Sri Lanka, Southeast Asia, and parts of China. They have smaller ears than African elephants. They are used in some cultures for work and ceremonies.
Why it matters
Asian elephants are endangered because of habitat loss and poaching. Learning about them helps us protect them.
