What is it?
Renaissance style began in Italy and spread across Europe. Artists tried to make paintings and sculptures look realistic. They used perspective to show depth and studied human anatomy. They also looked back to ancient Greek and Roman art for inspiration. The objects in a studiolo, like inkwells and bronze vessels, often copied ancient Roman designs, showing the Renaissance love for classical art.
Why it matters
Renaissance style changed art forever. It introduced techniques like linear perspective and chiaroscuro. Many famous artworks, like the Mona Lisa, are from this period.
