What is it?
Late Gothic is the final phase of Gothic art. It is characterized by elegant, naturalistic figures, rich details, and a sense of movement. Sculptures from this period often have flowing robes and expressive faces. The Saint Christopher statue shows these features: the saint's body twists slightly, his clothes drape naturally, and his face shows determination. Late Gothic artists were very skilled at carving stone to look like fabric and hair.
