Blue Period
A time in Pablo Picasso's life when he painted mostly in shades of blue and blue-green, often showing sad or lonely people.

The Blue Period lasted from 1901 to 1904. During this time, Picasso was sad because a close friend had died. He used blue colors to show sadness, poverty, and loneliness.
