What is it?
The Southwestern United States includes states like Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and parts of California and Nevada. It has the Sonoran Desert, the Mojave Desert, and the Grand Canyon. The cactus longhorn beetle lives in this region, especially in areas with many cacti. Other animals like roadrunners, rattlesnakes, and Gila monsters also live there.
Why it matters
This region has unique ecosystems found nowhere else. Understanding it helps us appreciate desert biodiversity and the adaptations of desert life.
