What is it?
Tropical Asia includes countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and parts of India and China. It has a hot and wet climate all year round. This region is home to many rainforests, which are rich in biodiversity. The Phalaenopsis orchid originally comes from tropical Asia. Many other beautiful plants and animals live there too.
Why it matters
Tropical Asia is important because it has some of the most diverse ecosystems on Earth. Many of our food plants and medicines come from this region. Learning about it helps us understand the importance of rainforests and conservation.
