Museums use dioramas to teach visitors about habitats, ecosystems, and historical events. The peccary diorama you saw is an example of a habitat diorama. It shows peccaries in a forest or grassland setting, with plants and a natural-looking background. The Chacoan Peccary diorama likely shows the dry forest habitat of the Gran Chaco.
