What is it?
Chemotherapy is a way to treat cancer. The medicines travel through the body and attack fast-growing cells, like cancer cells. Some chemotherapy drugs come from plants. For example, vincristine and vinblastine come from the Madagascar periwinkle. These drugs have helped many children and adults survive cancer. The Madagascar periwinkle is a small plant with pink flowers that grows in many gardens.
Why it matters
