What is it?
Anatomy is the science of how bodies are built. It looks at bones, muscles, organs, and how they fit together. During the Renaissance, artists like Leonardo da Vinci studied anatomy by dissecting human bodies. They wanted to paint and sculpt people that looked real. The Renaissance sketch of a woman shows this interest: the artist drew the muscles and bones under the clothes.
